SUPPORTING

YOUNG CREATORS

The world that we currently live in needs to change in many ways. The biggest change is to encourage creativity in our leaders of tomorrow instead of crushing creative skills. As a parent to twin teenagers, being a young adult author, and someone passionate about the importance of creativity, it has surprised me how negative young adults are today regarding embracing their talents. I compulsively wrote from the age of thirteen. My daughter has done also. My son draws – Thomas designed my logo when I wanted a natural and non-AI design. Humanity must be able to express itself with art, poetry and writing. At all ages. I asked my son why he didn’t take art and he said because it would never pay as a career. I know college and university students considering dropping out or changing subjects because they are convinced that AI will take away all artistic jobs. Many in my writing community think the same. As a woman in tech, with extensive AI experience in the corporate world, I do not believe this, and I am 100% confident that AI will never replace my writing skills, and I will tell you why in my podcast over the next year. Check out my blog for more information.
AI is here whether we like it or not and yes, it will change the face of this world, as did the internet in the 80’s. I remember then, when I taught older people skills in word and excel, the fear that it would take away their jobs. Exactly the same. Normal fear of change. I say to all young creatives: how AI will exist in the world of art has not been decided yet. In 5 years from now, the world will be very different. AI will not take away our jobs – like word and excel – it will be those who can work with it who take away our jobs. As a project Manager who uses AI, I am more productive and get the job over PM’s who cannot use it. Even today. By using AI I can do the work of 10 PM’s who cannot use AI – all by myself. I can run 10 times the number of projects. If you cannot exist alongside it then you will find it very hard to find any work in some areas in the future. As a global IT Project Manager, for years AI has helped me do more in a day. It saves me 3-4 hours of work daily by writing minutes and summarising workshops. We will all be expected to do 10 times as much work as we can today by ‘using’ AI as a tool. Not AI replacing us but being used by us – fear and avoidance is not the way to master this situation.
Indeed some repetitive jobs can go, or fewer people to do the same jobs – things will change – and in good ways too. For example, we can spend more time doing what we like – such as art! I do not think we, as humans, will be drawn to AI art because it lacks the heart and soul of the human behind it. And so, I am here to support young creatives and prove to them that we can indeed make a living by doing something that we love. AI will not replace us but help us achieve more focus as a tool. I see it used more in the corporate world than in art. I therefore wish to introduce you to some amazing individuals who are seeking freelance work to support them throughout college and university. If you need any proof reading, young adult writing feedback, editing, narrating, illustrations and book covers then I shall work with them, as a small independent publisher, along with their parents, to support you in creating unique work full of human heart, energy, youth and passion. If you work in the industry where you can commission them please reach out with what work is needed. They are building up their experience working with me, doing commissions for me, and going through that painful back and forth or perfecting. These are amazing artists learning to excel in their work and art. Let’s all support young creatives and show AI it’s place as a tool and not something to step in the way of our passion… Join me in supporting tomorrow’s leaders and supporting today’s young creators.

MEET CREATOR

Olivia

Olivia has narrated The Children of Pisces book series – a young adult reading for young adults. A passionate proofreader, writer and editor also, she always reads books aloud for her friends who relied on audiobooks to discover the world of literature. Did you know that most young adults don’t like the polished adult voices and accents in today’s audiobooks and find them a deterrent? From the age of 13-17 Olivia has narrated 5 audiobooks inbetween exams. She is not a quitter and from this autumn she and I are combining our skills to edit and narrate audiobooks together to create a warmer and friendlier audiobook for those on a budget wanting to hear real voices as if they were sitting right next to you in the room. She also proofreads audiobooks for a studio.
Olivia is an excellent editor who catches mistakes after professional editors and copy editors have worked their magic. With a natural eye for errors, and studying A-level English with a passion, she can edit your book, proofread and feedback on YA content. Contact myself or Olivia directly at [email protected]

Fin

Fin is passionate about art and is studying it at college. With a father who is an architect, a mother who is an illustrator and teaches art, his passion is deeply embedded in his DNA! Fin is an excellent artist, more so with human style characters than animals, and would make any book or cover or your event walls just come to life with his work. Fin could work well alongside Thomas, if needed, between them creating people and animal art. Fin wants to hold a future that allows him to do what he loves most, feel into his artwork, and he has fulfilled a commission, a wonderful piece of art, for my company. I love it! I highly recommend his work and examples below. Now, AI cannot put such spirit and energy into what it creates in the same way. Fin can also use his work to create you a bespoke and unique book cover using the companies templates. See the below examples and reach out if you would like to engage with Fin about his art. Iona

My name is Iona, I’m a young artist and I’m currently studying graphic design and animation at college, and I have a GCSE in fine art. I have a passion for art, specifically drawing digitally in my own unique style, however I also like to draw traditionally and am completely fine with either. I am skilled in drawing characters, animals and backgrounds, but I’m open to drawing other things as I can usually adapt to drawing a subject that I’m not used to. I offer commissions for characters and am open to drawing other things too if discussed with me before. Prices can be discussed with me and vary on the size and complexity of the commission, as well as how happy you are with it. If you’re not happy with a commission, I’m happy to go back and edit it to match your expectations and will agree iterations and timescales with you. I can also use my illustration to create you a bespoke and unique book cover.
Some examples of my work can be found below and more on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iona.rty?igsh=ZWtycTBwd2VzdDA2 Contact Iona on [email protected]

Thomas

Hi, I’m Thomas and my mum runs this publishing company as an independent author and publisher. My God mother is a well-known traditionally published crime writer and creativity has always been strong in our connections. R E Lewin commissioned me to design her new logo, given the specs that she requested, because she wanted a natural human-drawn logo instead of the AI generated ones. She is not easy to work with, being unclear about what she wants and has taught me a lot about how to discover what people are after. I agree that the AI ones we see everywhere are just not as nice or as good and my generation do not like AI at all. I can draw dragons and dinosaurs and prefer animals and can work alongside Fin if needed since he is better at drawing people. Let’s just say that if I try to draw people they look anything but human! I can also use my illustration to create you a bespoke and unique book cover. I started drawing dinosaurs when I was a toddler so if you need someone to illustrate or cover design anything to do with dinosaurs, dragons and similar then no challenge is too much for me. Examples of my work can be found below. Thomas can be contacted on [email protected]
