MEET THE AUTHOR
R E LEWIN
Rachael started writing short stories and poems at a young age and had a poem published in America when she was 20 years old. She wrote her first novel aged thirteen, entered a few competitions and was then distracted by almost thirty years of a successful IT career and motherhood. Realising that technology was the way of the future she abandonned English at university for Computer Science and yet found a way to combine both passions througout her career as a technical author. Working across roles in IT support, technical writing and editing, IT training, and technical project management, she never stopped writing. During this time, she completed seven books — including five in The Children of Pisces series — while raising her toddler twins as a single mother, working as a childminder, and later returning to her IT career. During the COVID-19 lockdown, she introduced her eleven-year-old twins to this series, who fell in love with it. And then so did their friends. They insisted that she got them published and so in 2022 book 1 was in print.

“My animals are my life, they make every day worth living and feature in my writing a lot. My Husky is like my own Chewbacca. My fox red Labrador inspired Bardo, who is like a grumpy version of yoda and the racoon out of guardians of the galaxy. My cats are members of the Galactic federation and Zen Masters just visiting Earth at their leisure and to help humanity. My animals inspire me and breathe life into every day and every chapter.”
Rachael is spiritual and works with energy, herbs, powders and essential oils – managing Cushing’s Disease, Diabetes, Anaemia, Endometriosis & PCOS holistically – no medication, despite being told Cushing’s was causing type 1 diabetes, her pancreas was dead and kidneys dying. Rachael chose to set a new path for her future and not the degenerative terrifying one placed before her. You will see roses everywhere around her because she is from the Priestess of the Rose Lineage and here to help people, and their animals, reach their full potential and optimise health. Rachael loves writing science fiction and also adores travel and has started her non-fiction travel series to take you with her on these travels and guide you into making the most of such trips. Especially if you need to manage chronic health conditions but still travel with your children and have fun. She is at her happiest making up adventures in a quiet room with the fire crackling and cats jumping on the keyboard, dogs snoring at her feet. Rachael loves to have fun, jumping out of a perfectly good plane, diving deep beneath the ocean, swimming with dolphins and taking her children in a hot air balloon over the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. They barely survived! She believes life is best lived to the full. Over the years, she has broadened her experiences from computer science to publishing, writing and publishing programs, energy healing, well-being coach for people and animals, studying Energy, Aromatherapy and Zoopharmacognosy, as well as helping nurture creativity in others, including her children and other young adults. Rachael’s IT skills have served her well and encouraged her to start a Publishing company to help other creatives express themselves.

SCHOOL VISITS
Rachael is currently open for limited ‘meet the author’ events and school visits.
My twin son and daughter have helped me make this series inclusive and enjoyable for all ages and genders. I wanted something that the whole family could enjoy together since it is rare that I can get both my son and daughter to watch the same movie with me now that they are older. From coming of age, unable to fit in, growing up in a post-pandemic world, and all the martial arts, there is something for everyone.
I have been getting good reviews and feedback and believe that I have managed this goal; the guys I work with in IT love reading this, so do all my friends, regardless of gender or age, and even grandparents with their grandchildren. It seems as if I really have found the perfect age and gender neutral storyline. We made it inclusive and Olivia also insisted that I incorporate a Japanese character, given her love of Anime, and so we created Ren from book 3 onwards. An amazing character from my daughters character outline.
The event is fun and informative (timings can be
flexible, approx 1 hour), which includes:
